Planning a wedding can be a very exciting time but also a very nerve wracking time! There is such a long to do list that sometimes a bridal couple becomes very overwhelmed. One major task is meeting and choosing your vendors for your special day. I always suggest to my couples that they need to make a list of vendor items that are very important to them so they are able to pick someone that fits their needs. After they have those items are figured out, then make a list of questions that they will want to discuss with that particular vendor type. Some generic questions are…
- Here are my ideas about what I’m looking for and here is my budget. Do you think this can be achieved?
- How long have you been in business and do you have a list of references or a list of reviews signts that we can check out?
- What are some things that have added to your experience over others in the industry?
- Do you have a sampling of your work?
- Does your company offer mock ups/ taste testing?
- What is your back up plan if you are unable to be at our wedding?
- What are the terms of your contract?
- What is the deposit and when is the remainder due?
- Do you have any special promotions going right now?
- Are there any special things you do for your bridal couples?
These are just a few questions that couples should be asking. A great resource for couple to use is iVillage. On this website they have a great list of questions for each vendor that is needed for your wedding. Also in the upcoming weeks, I will also be doing a more in depth list of things to ask and look for in all areas of vendor selections. Stay tuned!
