International Mailing

stamps

As I was speaking to a client of mine this evening she gave a great idea on today’s blog postings… In this day and age our family and friends are spread all over the world.  So when a couple starts thinking about sending out their invites they need to consider a few things:

  • When you are sending your invitations to anyone outside the US I suggest that you send those 4 weeks earlier then any that are being sent out within the US.  The reason behind this thinking is because mail service is slow to reach certain destination.  It is better to be safe then sorry.
  • Make sure you put the correct postage onto the international invitation.  The US Postal service has a great website to help determine what that is : http://postcalc.usps.gov
  • When it comes to your RSVP, if at all possible try to get the correct stamps for that country. Stamps International is a great resource of purchasing stamps from all over the world: http://www.stamps-international.com/  If you are unable to do this, then send them without postage. US postage will not be accepted in foreign countries and you will more then likely not receive your RSVP back.
