Events by September’s Bride

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

I love when great minds come together to form something even greater! Recently a new event company was formed by two women that I highly respect!  Tami of September’s Bride and Michelle of Memorable Events has joined forces to create Events by September’s Brides.  Now some might ask why I would promote another event planning company.  The reason is because these two women are amazing and I’m so happy to see them working together!  As many know, September’s Bride is the only bridal shop that I send my clients too because of the quality of their service and merchandise.  Plus I love Tami’s spunk for life and her business values.  And Michelle, what can I say?  She is one of the sweetest people that I know!  She takes the same approach to her clients as I do and treats them like they are the only client that she has.  This says a lot about her business and this is the reason that I refer future couples to her if EOE cannot fill their needs.

Events by September’s Brides is located downtown Holland and offer a full service event planning.  With Tami and Michelle at the helm of this new company, they are one to follow!  Congrats ladies and we here at EOE are so excited for you!

Forget Me Not Blooms!

Monday, May 10th, 2010

As many know I don’t usually take orders for everyday flowers but that’s about to change.  After multiple conversations with many of my clients, friends, and family I have decided to add an additional service to our already wonderful line up.  I’m proud to introduce Forget Me Not Blooms by Elements of Elegance Event Planning and Floral.

What exactly is Forget Me Not Blooms? It’s exactly that, I will help you not forget important dates and make sure that loved one gets something delivered to them on that special day.  All I ask is a list of dates that you know you shouldn’t forget but sometimes do and a list of blooms that your special someone loves.  Then you leave the rest to me!  Now this isn’t some brand new “invention” of service in the world of floral, but I do believe it’s something that is needed.  In the coming days you will see a new link on our website that you can click on to get you started on your way of being the most thoughtful person ever!

Average Cost of a Wedding

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

dollar-signs

After my posting yesterday I have received a lot of comments and questions about the average cost of today’s weddings. What my readers need to understand is the cost of the wedding is really depended upon what area you are getting married in.  According to the website “The Cost of Weddings” the following are what is considered the average budgets for today’s bride in Michigan.

v     Grand Rapids Michigan ~ $12,698 and $21,163

v     Holland Michigan ~ $13,463 and $22,438

v     Kalamazoo Michigan ~ $13,922 and $23,203

v     Detroit Michigan ~ $11,474 and $19,123

v     Lansing Michigan ~ $12,086 and $20,143

v     Iron Mountain Michigan ~ $13,922 and $23,203

v     Saginaw Michigan ~ $10,097 and $16,828

v     Cass City Michigan ~ $10,556 and $17,593

v     Manistee Michigan ~ $11,627 and $19,378

These budgets seem very reasonable for most couples but when you start looking at other regions on our country the price of a wedding is much different.

v     Santa Monica California ~ $41,306 and $68,843

v     Boston Massachusetts ~ $20,959 and $34,932

v     New York  New York ~ $19,888 and $33,147

v     Tampa Florida ~ $17,440 and $29,067

v     San Francisco California ~ $33,963 and $56,604

v     Los Angeles California ~ $18,511 and $30,852

v     Atlanta Georgia ~ 24,631 and $41,051

Barterering for a wedding?

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Bartering your way into a great wedding… Can you really have a $40,000.00 wedding for $3000.00? Well that is exactly what Jennifer Mae Fletke and Chris Watters of Santa Monica California did according to an article that CNN published this morning. The couple took a look at the economy and decided that they realistically could not afford the wedding that they really wanted. So they decided they would trade their talents with other local vendors for their services. They admitted it was a lot of hard work and they were told no numerous times. Please take some time and read their story and maybe it will aspire you to so the same. Happy Planning…

New Blog!

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Hi Everyone! I hope this finds everyone doing great in our first spring like day of the year…. With this being my first posting in a very long time and I have had a lot of changes happen with both myself and Elements of Elegance! This last summer I was made the happiest women in the world when Mark asked me to be his wife. We were married on October 3rd of this year on his parent’s 44th wedding anniversary. After a wonderful honeymoon in Hawaii, I came back and left the job I have been at for 12 years to go full time with Elements of Elegance. So with me finally being able to follow my dream of becoming my own boss comes also a change to my business. I have add my dear friend Sue as my floral and coordinator assistant for the larger weddings I have this summer. Her talent and eye for color are nothing short of amazing. Also this year we decided to hire a summer intern. She name is Leia and she is attending Western in the fall as a freshman. She worked her first wedding with me this past month and I was impressed on her knack for the little details. I think she is going to be a great addition to our team!

Please watch in the coming hours and days for new posting! I am excited to start sharing some my past designs and highlighting some of my favorite weddings and vendors!
